I’m Jeff Ting, PhD, a chemical engineer specializing in polymer science and materials informatics. I spent four years as a postdoc making X-ray and neutron scattering data machine-readable, and about six years in industry doing materials informatics for polymer formulation and characterization, including adhesives at 3M and nanoparticles at Nanite Bio.
Throughout, a big part of my job has been explaining technical work to people outside the lab: funders, partners and collaborators across companies and universities. Fig1 Studio puts that skill to work for polymer research groups, and I write every site myself. I read your papers, understand the science and write about it in a way that a prospective student, a program manager or a journalist can follow.
